Early Christian Education to Elementary Age

Early Christian Education to Elementary Age

From the moment a child is born, it is important that a child is raised in the faith. Ultimately that authority is given and the responsibility belongs to the parents as we are reminded in Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (ESV), "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."
As the Church, we support this in our offering up of classes on Sunday morning. The curriculum is centered in Scripture and follows a three-year cycle that offers perspectives and tools that are age appropriate to help each child learn and grow in faith by understanding the Word of God and the history of our faith from Creation through the development of the Early Church. We, also, offer tools for parents to continue this at home, which will assist in growing a family together in faith.
